This project will include the extension of Fort Valley Utility Commission utility services to serve the new Peach County High School. A new duplex lift station will be constructed on the Peach County Board of Education property. Over 13,000’ of 8” HDPE force main will be installed to connect the proposed lift station to the existing Lane Lift Station. The force main installation will include approximatey 150' of 24” steel casing installed by jack and bore underneath S.R. 49, approximatly 600' 24" steel casing installed by jack and bore underneath the Norfolk Southern Railroad and surrounding wetlands, and approximately 300' of 24" HDPE casing installed by horizontal directional drill under Mossy Creek. The water main extension includes installation of approximately 150’ of 18” steel casing by jack and bore underneath S.R. 49, over 700' of 12” PVC water main, and an 8” water meter and vault with backflow prevention. Underground power and fiber optic cables will also be extended to serve the High School. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashier’s check in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid. All bonds shall be by a surety company licensed in Georgia with an “A” minimum rating of performance and a financial strength of at least five (5) times the contract price as listed in the most current publication of “Best’s Key Rating Guide Property Liability”. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
