The Project is located at Cooper’s Gulch Reach, runs up stream to 14th Street crossing, and ends at M Street crossing. The Project addresses known fish passage barriers and other constraints to salmonids and stream functions in the First Slough watershed. The project will provide habitat connectivity to nearby First Slough brackish habitat and the Eureka Slough estuary. Habitats will be enhanced within the Cooper Gulch reach through addition of large woody debris, alcoves, and channel modifications. Three migration barriers will be addressed by replacing and/or removing culverts at the 14th Street crossing, the M Street right of way, and the N Street right of way. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
