We are requesting bids for the following trades and/or material suppliers:

  • 0008 - 120090 - CONSTRUCTION AREA SIGNS

Furnish, install, maintain, and remove construction area signs per Standard Specifications and as shown in the plans. Includes C51(CA) construction project funding identification signs with legend reading 'BRIDGE MAINTENANCE' and 'YEAR OF COMPLETION: 2030', with Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA) pictograph. Also includes covering/uncovering existing speed limit signs during 24/7 construction work zone speed limit reductions.

  • 0009 - 120100 - TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM

Furnish, install, operate, maintain, and remove the traffic control system for lane closures, shoulder closures, and ramp closures on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge and approaches per Standard Specifications, special provisions, and as shown in the plans. Includes all signs, devices, and delineation for temporary traffic control during construction.

  • 0010 - 120103 - STATIONARY IMPACT ATTENUATOR VEHICLE

Provide stationary impact attenuator vehicles for lane closures. For traffic control systems with multiple work areas, place a stationary impact attenuator at each work area with a separation distance of at least 500 feet from adjacent work areas. Estimated 480 vehicle-days.

  • 0011 - 120207 - PORTABLE RADAR SPEED FEEDBACK SIGN

SYSTEM

Furnish, install, operate, and maintain portable radar speed feedback sign systems for construction work zone speed limit reduction. Systems must include R2-1 signs with G20-5aP 'WORK ZONE' plaque. Place 400 feet upstream of active work areas. LED display must remain blank when no vehicles are detected or when detected speed is 10 mph or less than the pre-set speed. Estimated 960 system-days.

  • 0013 - 128651 - PORTABLE CHANGEABLE MESSAGE SIGN (EA)

Furnish, install, operate, and maintain portable changeable message signs (PCMS) at locations shown in the plans and in advance of the first warning sign for each stationary lane closure, shoulder closure, and speed reduction zone. Used for advance notification of speed limit reductions and lane/ramp closures. Display messages 10 minutes before closing lanes or shoulders

  • 0016 - 130201 - WATER POLLUTION CONTROL PROGRAM - LS

Develop and implement a water pollution control program per Standard Specifications. Includes all BMPs, erosion control, sediment control, and waste management measures to prevent discharge of pollutants into San Francisco Bay and adjacent waters during construction.

  • 0035 - 820840 - ROADSIDE SIGN - ONE POST

Furnish and install roadside signs on single posts per Standard Specifications and Standard Plans RS1, RS2, and RS4. Ten signs total at locations shown in the plans.

  • 0036 - 870009 - MAINTAINING EXISTING TRAFFIC

MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ELEMENTS DURING CONSTRUCTION

Maintain all existing traffic management system elements (TMS) on and around the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge in operational condition throughout the duration of construction. Includes protection, temporary relocation if needed, and repair of any damage to existing ITS/TMS elements caused by construction activities.

  • 0023 - 860102 - (F)- STRUCTURAL STEEL (BRIDGE) - LB

Furnish and place structural steel for bridge repairs, including replacement of the existing eyebar at the lower chord (panel point LS) at the truss. See Eyebar Pin Cap Details in the plans.

  • 0024 - 571040 - (F)- PLASTIC LUMBER - MFBM

Furnish and install plastic lumber sheathing to replace missing fender sheathing at Piers 34 and 47. Lumber is 12" x 8" x 15' (total of 4 pieces: 1 at Pier 34 and 2 at Pier 47, plus 1 spare). Concrete anchorage devices are not required to be on the Authorized Material List. Hardware material is ASTM A276, Type 316 stainless steel.

  • 0031 - 600114 BRIDGE REMOVAL(PORTION)

Remove designated portions of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (Br. No. 28-0100), including the eyebar pin cap, existing lower deck travelers and traveler rail system, and portions of existing Pier 19 concrete (delaminated concrete removed to sound substrate). Travelers to be removed are located at cantilever spans at Piers 33-34, 34-35, 35-36, 46-47, and 47-48 (one each, 5 total on the lower deck).

  • 0034 - 048901 SALVAGE TRAVELER COMPONENTS

Salvage designated traveler motor components from the 5 lower deck travelers being removed (total 10 motors). Salvage items include: traveler motors, air brakes and brake apparatus, whistles and whistle valves, air filters and oilers, pressure gauges, and foot pedal valves. Components must be carefully removed and preserved for the Department.
