The work consists in general of approximately 2.8 miles of Class II and Class IV bikeway along University
Avenue between Estrella Avenue and 69th Street within the City of San Diego and approximately 0.25 miles of Bike Boulevard improvements on Estrella Avenue between Orange Avenue and University Avenue. Roadway improvements are required to accommodate the bikeway. Features include raised concrete medians, concrete curb & gutter, asphalt concrete dike, bus islands, a protected intersection, street lighting, traffic signal modifications and other traffic safety measures linked to signage and striping.
Work includes, but not limited to, controlling for water pollution; traffic control; erosion control; clearing and grubbing; curb, gutter, cross gutter, driveway, colored concrete, and sidewalk work; roadway excavation; imported borrow; asphalt concrete pavement; PCC pavement; landscaping and irrigation; proprietary BMPs; wayfinding signage; pavement markings and signage; street lighting; trenching and backfill for underground electric conduits; water appurtenances and fire hydrant relocations; storm drain installation; traffic signal modifications. Additive alternate A consists of pavement rehabilitation and associated curb ramps, traffic signal modifications and other appurtenant work associated with rehabilitating the roadway along University Avenue.

By submitting a proposal, Respondent/Bidder acknowledges that they have performed a thorough review of the terms and conditions contained in our standard subcontract/purchase order (Contract). Respondent/Bidder quotes, including terms and conditions contained therein, will not be included in subcontracts/purchase orders issued for the project. Respondent/Bidder shall submit, in writing with their proposal/quote, any exceptions to the RCI Contract terms and conditions.
Note: RCI may disqualify and reject the respondent’s proposal/bid based on the exceptions submitted.
