Description

The Wagon Trail Phase 1 project consists of reconstructing and realigning State Route 4 from Bonanza Mine Way to just east of Appaloosa Drive. The County of Calaveras is the Lead Agency on this on-system project under a Cooperative Agreement with Caltrans. Major elements of this project include: 1. Realignment and Reconstruction of State Route 4 from Bonanza Mine Way to just east of Appaloosa Drive. 2. Realignment of Hunt Road to the realigned State Route 4. 3. Grading, paving, and culvert improvements. 4. Installation of a box culvert/animal crossing. Consultant’s general scope of work must include performing the duties of Resident Engineer (RE) and Construction Manager (CM). Performance of the following specific duties is required for this Agreement, and must be in conformance with the Caltrans Construction Manual and procedures for Federal-Aid projects. 3.1. Management and Coordination Construction Manager (CM), along with supporting staff provided by Consultant, will perform construction administration oversight and inspection services during the construction of the Project. All Consultant staff shall work under the supervision of the CM. These services encompass serving as the County’s RE to the construction contractor and the public with regard to activities at the construction site, interpretation of the requirements of the construction contract documents, assessing the acceptability of the contractor’s work, construction staking quality control, and materials testing. Consultant’s services include review and analysis of construction documentation prior to bidding, documentation of pre-construction site conditions, and interpretation of the contractor’s conformance to the project plans, specifications, contract documents and regulatory permits. Consultant will assess the acceptability of the contractor’s work by contract requirements and standards, visual observation, photo and video documentation, and all applicable soil and material testing.
