Snow Hall New Elevator, ADA Upgrades, and Associated Asbestos Abatement, Bronx, NY

The scope of work for this project is to add a 4-stop Machine-room-less traction elevator to the building to make it handicap accessible, together with related repairs. This work includes excavation into rock adjacent to the existing building, and in the existing cellar, to provide for the new elevator pit, and chop a new ramp down below the existing cellar floor slab to provide sufficient clearance from the first floor level to the cellar landing level for the elevator to operate properly. The work also includes the construction of a new shaft and hoist way adjacent to the building, and a new roof over this shaft. Shaft and roof shall be spliced into the existing exterior wall and roof of the building to provide a weatherproof envelope to the new construction and provide for its relationship to the existing building. Miscellaneous interior finishes are also required to patch and repair areas of the building that are affected by the addition. Also, assumed roofing asbestos abatement scope of work is made part of this project. MBE goal is 25%, WBE goal is 10%, and DVBE goal is 6%.
