Description
The project site is located approximately 8 miles south of the Town of Mesa along Highway 65 at the base of the Powderhorn Resort Ski Area within the Grand Mesa Metropolitan District’s service area at the District’s aerated lagoon wastewater treatment plant. The project generally consists of the following major items: (1) Site preparation, including riprap removal, clearing and grubbing of existing lagoon cells, and necessary shaping or grading to prepare the lagoon surfaces for new synthetic liners. (2) Excavation of approximately 2,200 cubic yards of from the lagoon cells. (3) Placement of approximately 1,400 cubic yards of compacted fill. (4) Site dewatering as necessary. (5) Lagoon Dewatering. (6) Installation of approximately 400-linear feet of 4-inch PVC perforated groundwater collection pipes and concrete sump structures with hydrostatic valves. (7) Installation of approximately 900-linear feet of 4-inch ADS gas vent piping and spun bound geotextile fabric over gas vent piping. (8)
Installation of approximately 700-linear feet of new 8-inch SDR 35 PVC yard piping. (9) Installation of three (3) new owner-supplied level control structures. (10) Installation of one (1) new owner-supplied flow control structure. (11) Installation of four (4) new owner supplied standard manholes. (12) Installation of three (3) new owner supplied hydrostatic relief valve structures. (13) Installation of new lagoon inlet piping, distributor and collector piping, & associated appurtenances, placement and shaping of liner subgrade, including the application of pre-emergent herbicide over lagoon surfaces. (14) Installation of approximately 6,000 square yards of either 60 mil HDPE synthetic liner or 45 mil Reinforced Polypropylene (15) Installation of two (2) owner-supplied floating baffle curtains. (16) Installation of 290-linear feet of new 6-inch HDPE blower manifold piping with vertical risers and fittings. (17) Installation of a new owner-supplied insulated floating cover system. (18) Site restoration, including gravel surfacing as necessary. Bonds required. Prevailing wages apply. American Iron & Steel applies.
