Demolition & New Construction: Residential Modification, Bowie, MD

The Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS or the "Department") is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) in order to procure the services as specified in this IFB, from a contract between the successful bidder(s) and DORS: DORS intends to solicit bids for a Contractor to provide home modification services for the specified client of the Division of Rehabilitation Services. The scope of work included in this contract are as defined but not limited to: 1. Demolition and carting away the existing narrow wooden platform and ramp from the entrance door from the living quarter to the garage. 2. Construction of a new 8 feet X 8 feet X 29 inches high wooden platform that will accommodate a space for the upper landing of an installed wheelchair Vertical platform Lift (VPL), including a wooden stair for other members of the household. 3. Installation of new electrical outlet and connections as directed in the specification. 4. Supply, installation and commissioning of a wheelchair Vertical Platform Lift wheelchair (VPL) with a maximum rise of 40 inches. 5. Supply, installation and commissioning of an automatic door opener on the 36” entrance door to the living quarters from the garage. Contractor must notify homeowner prior to any site visit and/or site work.
