Description
The City of Cape Coral Reclaimed Water Transmission Main Caloosahatchee River Crossing project includes an Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) crossing of the Caloosahatchee River south of the Midpoint Bridge.
The nominal 24-inch diameter pipe will be Fusible Polyvinyl Chloride Pipe (FPVCP) with Dimension Ration (DR) 18.
The length of the crossing requires the use of the intersect method with one HDD rig staged on the western end of the crossing in Horton Park Playground and one rig staged in Veteran Memorial Park on the eastern end of the crossing.
The western bore entry will be approximately 100 feet west of the sea wall, south of the playground structure.
The eastern bore entry will be approximately 300 feet east of the sea wall, and approximately 75 feet south of the Midpoint Bridge. The entry locations were chosen to provide adequate work area, minimize risk to the sea walls, and limit impacts to the adjacent communities. Prior to pullback, the full 7,520-foot pipe string will be fused together and staged within the median of Everest Parkway. Bonds Required. Prevailing Wages.
