Field House Resurfacing Project, International University, Laredo, TX

Work of the project involves: a. Surface refinishing contractor mush have a proven track record and substantiated performance from colleges and university that have used their refinishing process and must present references from said institutions upon request. b. All refinishing of glass, porcelain, tile, fiberglass, cultured marble, laminate, acrylic, terrazzo, and concrete block vertical and horizontal surfaces will utilize a surface refinishing process that creates a membrane over the surface and penetrate porous surfaces i.e. grout and binds its components together. c. The process must not include the use of hydrofluoric acids to etch the surface and potentially expose contaminates to the air or chemical burns to the technician. d. All technicians must have completed a certified training and safety program. e. The refinishing company must be able to provide the architect/customer with choices of colors, finishes, and textures. f. SSC is requiring a Mock up: a sample of what the finished product will look like to be provided by the contractor and approved by the architect or property owner. g. For this project the following surfaces will need to resurfaced: - Walls - Floors - Partitions - Cabinets - Counter tops h. All drains will need to be keyed to ensure proper adhesion and to prevent water penetration i. All work must meet ADA requirements and pass a TAS inspection j. 2 year warranty on work k. Contractor is required to supply a complete written architectural specification on product, application, surface preparation, safety, and warranty. l. A 4’x4’ mock-up of each material is required to be submitted after color selection.
