The City of Grand Junction is soliciting competitive bids from qualified and interested companies for all labor, equipment, and materials required to load and haul Residual Radioactive Material (RRM) to the Grand Junction, Colorado, Disposal Site (GJDS). The City has allowed RRM to be temporarily stockpiled at the City Shops, 333 West Avenue, in an old sewage clarifier structure (the clarifier). The GJDS is owned and managed by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Legacy Management (DOE-LM) and is operated by its prime contractor, RSI EnTech, LLC (RSI). The GJDS, formerly known as the DOE Cheney Repository, will open on August 30, 2021 to receive the RRM. There is an estimated 3,000 cubic yards (6,000 Tons) of RRM including uranium mill tailings, soil, concrete, and aggregate to be removed from City Shops and hauled to the GJDS. All dimensions and scope of work should be verified by Contractors prior to submission of bids. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
