Description

King George County, Virginia (KGC), is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to remove and relocate a Confederate Civil War monument from the King George County Courthouse property to Historyland Memorial Park. The granite monument is situated on the King George County property in front of the Courthouse located at 9483 Kings Hwy, King George, Virginia 22485. Historyland Memorial Park is located at 11227 James Madison Pkwy, King George, Virginia 22485. The monument measures approximately 6’x6’ at the base and is approximately 17 feet tall. The existing foundation shall be demolished, and a new foundation constructed at Historyland Memorial Park. Work to begin 7 days from notice to proceed, and all work to be completed within 30 days from notice to proceed. Q&A due by 1pm, 7/6/21.
