City of Laredo International Airport 5KV – L-824C Runway Lighting Cable Replacement requires: 1. Remove existing damaged 8 AWG – 5KV L-824C cable for runway lighting. a. Existing cable route is from airport runway vault through existing ductbank from west side of airport to the east side of airport. b. Approximate distance for main ductbank route is 4,000 LF. c. Secondary runway cable route is from airport runway vault through existing ductbank north to northwest. d. Approximate distance for secondary ductbank route is 2,000 LF. 2. Trace and clean existing 4” PVC to find new pathway for new cable. 3. Provide and install the following: a. 4 x 4,000 LF – 8 AWG – L-824C – 5KV cable for primary ductbank. b. 2 x 2,000 LF – 8 AWG – L-824C – 5KV cable for secondary ductbank. 4. Pull all new cable into airport runway vault along cable racks and into respective voltage regulators. 5. Terminate all cables at assigned airport lighting circuits. 6. Dispose of old damaged cable. 7. FAA required lights and flags for company vehicles. 8. Escort for work at runways and communication with control tower to be provided by City of Laredo. 9. Additional 2,000 ft of cable between the Airfield Electrical Vault to blue square (refer to Map 1 on Attachment Tab Section). 10. Overall total of 8,000 ft of cable required. 11. All work will be performed in a professional and craft-manlike manner and in accordance with local and national code. 12. The successful contractor shall be required to provide safety signs. -Contractor shall display professional behavior at all times. -Contractor is also responsible to inform employees or subcontractors of such professionalism. -Contractor shall keep area clean at all times and leave clean at the end of the day each day. All trash must be disposed of to the City of Laredo Landfill. City of Laredo will not pay for landfill cost. -The contractor shall be required to guarantee it’s workmanship to the full satisfaction of the City of Laredo. Any work deemed unsatisfactory by City Inspection shall be redone at no additional cost to the City. 12. Awarded vendor is required to meet minimum insurance, Project requirements and maintain current and active all: building permits, certifications, licenses, other related permits and/or insurance coverages, required to perform work, throughout the duration of this project - contract. Workmanship and parts warranty shall be no less than two (2) years from the time of the completion of the project. The City of Laredo has established a 5% local vendor preference.
