North Mecklenburg Park Basketball Court Resurfacing Project. Huntersville, NC

This Project includes the following scope of work: The repair and resurfacing of four (4) all-weather basketball courts with approximately 24,000 square feet of surface. Contractor should visit site to measure surface for exact square feet. Entire asphalt surface on courts to be pressure washed using a 4,000 P.S.I. (pounds per square inch) gasoline pressure washer to assure cleanest bond of patching and color coating materials. Hand scrape and blow all loose debris and delaminated materials off the existing surface using a mechanical blower and hand scrapers. Grind all raised cracks on surface with mechanical grinder. Level all asphalt imperfections. Flood entire court area and mark all puddles and low spots holding more than 1/8” standing water. Fill puddles, low spots and dipped paving seams with 100% acrylic patching compound; fill severe asphalt seams to create a smooth even surface. All filled and patched areas must be reviewed and approved by owner. Remove weeds and grass from around edges and cracks. Clean out and patch cracks as necessary with acrylic patching material. Repair structural cracks (approx. 1500 linear feet) with the Riteway Crack Repair System or approved equivalent). This work would include a warranty of 2 years against the reappearance of cracks repaired with the Riteway Crack Repair System. All crack repairs must be extended 2 feett beyond the end of existing cracks. Patch depressions/birdbaths holding more than 1/8” water, after one hour on a sunny, 70 degree Fahrenheit day, with acrylic patching material. All depressions shall be tack-coated prior to patching. Apply one (1) coat of acrylic resurfacer (.06 gallons/square yard), Laykold, or equivalent, according to manufacturer’s directions. Apply two (2) sand-filled coats of Laykold Colorcoat (.10 gallons/square yard), or equivalent, according to manufacturer’s directions. Layout, mask and hand paint playing lines (2”) with Laykold Textured White Acrylic Line Paint (or equivalent). Two (2) basketball courts will receive two (2) applications of 2-inch white game lines applied in accordance with NCAA specifications. Refurbish basketball posts with black enamel paint, (Rustoleum or equal). Clean up area and dispose of all debris. Contractor will provide up to three different colors for courts. Insurance Required.
