Description
The purpose of this project is to prevent backwater from the Fox River in high water events into the sewer system from the Fox River. This project (City identified outfalls #13, #14 and #15 of their sewer system) includes but is not limited to furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, traffic control, and other as included items necessary for the completion of following base bid quantities: Highland Ave. #13 Outfall – 60” Backflow Prevention Modifications Complete; Chicago St. #14 Outfall – 24” Backflow Prevention Modifications Complete; Grove Ave. #15 Outfall – 54” Backflow Prevention Modifications Complete .
Also includes installation of various sized precast manhole structures for the backflow installation and future access on existing sewer system; approximately 57 SY of PCC pavement removal and patching; storm sewer manhole adjustments; and other miscellaneous items of work in accordance with the Contract Plans and Specifications to prevent backwater into the sewer system from the Fox River. The proposed backflow prevention is based on the existing pipe sizes at these selected outfalls identified in the Contract Plans and Specifications. Bonds and Prevailing Wages.
