Description
This work consists of excavating along the alignment of the new and existing water lines at points of potential conflict to determine the exact location of existing utilities. Approval to proceed shall be obtained from the Engineer before any exploratory excavation is to begin. An exploratory excavation plan showing proposed locations shall be submitted to the Engineer for approval before any excavation can begin. Any deviation from the approved plan must be approved in writing by the Engineer before excavation can begin. Test pits shall be backfilled immediately after the desired information has been obtained. The backfilled surface shall be restored and maintained in a manner satisfactory to the Engineer. Upon completion of exploratory excavations, contractor shall submit documentation to Engineer illustrating the location of utilities and discovery of obstructions identified to the nearest permanent structure upon the plans. The Work will be completed in all respects within 180 calendar days from the date when the Contract Times commence to run. Insurance Required. Bonds.
