Install Generator for Bldgs 85 & 86, Brooklyn, NY

Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. NAICS Code: 238210 - Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors. The scope of this project is a new 1000 KW diesel generator, Tier 4, 208Y/120V, which will be installed on grade, with a Diesel sub-base tank in an all-season housing/enclosure with conduits and feeders. The capacity of the fuel tank will allow the generator to run for 96 hours at a full load rating. In the weatherproof housing of the generator, an ATS will be located as well, with also the possibility of multiple output breakers to serve future loads from the generator. This ATS will back up the entire new 3000A switchgear to be located in the adjacent switchgear building. The generator will be provided with a remote generator and fuel tank monitoring/alarm panels. These panels will be located in the existing Vault 167. The panels will be wired to the facility BMS in the Engineering Service, Building 89. Via the facility BMS network, the generator and fuel tank can be viewed on the monitoring screen in Boiler Plant. Note that the design basis for the new generator uses an engine certified as US EPA Tier 4 due to the state and local environmental protection requirements. Engines certified as Tier 4 engines per 40 CFR 1039.101 are exempt from conducting the tests upon initial installation. The fuel tank monitoring system will conform with the latest EPA and NY Department of Environmental Protection requirements.
