Transmission Grounding Repairs, Key West, FL

The grounding repair work involves the Owner’s (KEYS) 69kV and 138kV electric transmission lines from Key West to Marathon that has documented grounding issues. The work will include labor, materials and equipment to repair to the grounding systems associated with these structures, both steel and concrete, above and below water. Diving is required, with depths up to approximately 30 feet. A list of poles to be repaired are located on the Keys FTP site. All lines shall remain energized during the entire period for repairs. The scope of structures is limited to those with lifejackets installed. Repairs for these structures are only expected to be at the lower foundations and entails splicing the existing ground cable and making connection to the ground rod clamp. There potentially may be some structures that could be missing ground rods/clamps, ground wire clips & anchors. Awarded contractor is expected to perform an inspection of each structure prior to performing any work to determine the correct material list. Bonds Required. Prevailing Wages.
