Hospital Area E Flood Mitigation - Emergency Purchase Notification, Salt Lake City, UT

Bid date estimated. On Sunday August 1, 2021, the University of Utah hospital complex experienced a torrential rain storm which lead to significant flooding causing damage to Area E (ACC) in the lower level of the building. The main roof riser drain that connects from the roof of the Main hospital and runs through the lower level of Area E and empties into an external storm drain fractured due to significant water pressure. The resulting flood caused significant property damage and required immediate remediation. Remediation firm Serve-Pro was contacted to begin the remediation process though sufficient resources were not available. As such remediation firm Belfor (State of Utah contract PD3658), whom had sufficient resources was dispatched and began the remediation process. This emergency is ongoing as of 8/11/2021 and further emergent actions are pending in this matter.
