Gooseberry Point Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements, Bellingham, WA

The project will construct improvements to the existing wastewater treatment plant to increase the plant capacity to a maximum month flow of 557,000 gallons per day. The project includes construction of a new headworks facility, two new primary clarifiers, one new secondary clarifier, two new aerobic digesters and associated sludge handling and thickening equipment, one new plant drain pump station, one new effluent pump station, a new primary clarifier pump building, and a new operations building. The project also includes modifications to the existing rotating biological contactors, modifications to the existing process tanks to convert them to contact and stabilization basins, modifications to the existing equipment building including replacement of the existing equipment, modifications to the existing two secondary clarifiers with new clarifier mechanisms, modifications to the existing ultraviolet disinfection system, modifications of existing abandoned chlorine contact tank to a non-potable water wet well and an effluent wet well.
