Description

This bid shall be for the removal, furnishing and installation of W beam cap beam and stiffeners on bridge begin and bridge end and beam seats including bearing plates, rubber pad, angle connections, and bolts. The Contractor will be responsible for the following work items: provide WZTC for duration of project. Road can be closed to all traffic during construction. No detour is necessary, only “Bridge closed ahead” signs at nearest intersection to the north and south, 1000 ft and 500 ft warning signs, “road closed” signs and Type III barricades, unbolt and set aside bridge rail during construction, and reinstall once work is complete, provide steel cap beam and connection design, stamped by a NYS Licensed Professional Engineer. Design will be reviewed by County engineering staff prior to ordering any materials, remove and dispose of existing cap beam, bearing plates, bearing pads, girder connections and bolts on both ends of bridge, furnish and install new hot dipped galvanized cap beam, new bearing plates, new stiffeners, new girder connections, and new bolts at both ends of bridge, and any damage to roadway, bridge deck, bridge appurtenances, or sheet pile once contractor is mobilized is the responsibility of the contractor.
