Building 8 Replace Steam and Condensate Piping and Asbestos Abatement, Tupper Lake, NY

The project consists of the following: Plumbing / Asbestos Abatement Contract CR #11: the plumbing and abatement contract includes approximately 425 LF of abatement and removal of 8” Medium Pressure Steam Pipe, 8” Low Pressure Condensate Pipe and 4” Medium Pressure Condensate pipe and insulation and installation of approximately 425 LF of 8” MP Steam pipe, 6” LP condensate and 3” medium pressure condensate located within a concrete pipe tunnel. The contract also includes the provision of a temporary steam boiler system with piping connections to Building 8 to serve the steam building loads throughout the duration of construction. General Construction Contract CR #12: the general construction contract consists of the removal of existing tunnel covers to gain access to the tunnel, and then install new concrete covers after plumbing and abatement work is complete. The entire length of the concrete tunnel will then be topped with asphalt pavement. The general construction contractor will also be responsible for providing erosion and sediment control items, temporary fencing for the project, and providing a crushed stone landing for the temporary boiler/trailers. The general construction contractor will restore the disturbed areas at the completion of the project. Electrical Contract CR #14: the electrical contract consists of providing a temporary circuit to the temporary boiler utilizing existing conduit and conductors. Remove circuit at the end of work. Provide temporary circuit with new conduit and conductors to temporary fuel skid. Provide motor starters for temporary fuel skid pumps. Remove circuit and starters at the end of work. Provide fiber optic cabling in conduit from Power House IT rack to Building 8 IT rack. MBE goal is 2%, WBE goal is 2%, SDVOB goal is 6% and EEO goal is 10%. Bonds and prevailing wages
