Description

The intent of this project is to treat runoff from a portion of the new parking deck under construction at the Science Museum of Virginia (SMV) site in Richmond, Virginia. The goal of this project is to install a state-of the-art nitrogen and phosphorus removal system (known as an Advanced Bioretention System, or ABS) to largely eliminate these nutrients from runoff and restore a more natural hydrology consistent with the goals of Low Impact Development (LID) practice. The proposed project will result in the retrofit of a highly visible facility with an advanced treatment system. After installation, the project will be monitored to demonstrate its effectiveness, and an outreach/training program will subsequently be developed. Currently, we anticipate this project to begin in mid to late September, and take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete. Mandatory site visit: Prospective bidders must schedule and attend a site visit prior to the Bid Due Date and Time. The mandatory site visit shall be scheduled and coordinated with Laura Dearhart by sending an email to [email protected]. Q&A due 6 days prior to bid. SBE documentation required. Bonds may be required. Prevailing wages apply.
