Description
Prepare a 250’x15’ swath along edge of existing lawn to enlarge lawn area by removing invasive bittersweet, buckthorn, multiflora rose, honeysuckle, etc. Grade, loam and seed expanded lawn area to become a small park area. Loam to be supplied by Town/owner. Town/owner will approve seed mix. Cut, dig out and remove invasive plants along Concord Road guardrail. Construct 125 linear feet of ADA Compliant walkway, 5 feet wide leading to a 14’ diameter patio for picnic table and connecting to existing walkway at one end. Construct walkway surface from “Ideal” pavers. Main body of walkway paved with Ideal’s “Yankee Cobble” with a “soldier row” along the edges paved with Ideal’s “Boston Colonial” pavers. Prepare and plant a 10’x20’ pollinator garden. Town will purchase and deliver plants to site. Plant 18 native shrubs along back and western side edges of the green per plan. Town will purchase and arrange delivery of plants to site. Edge both the pollinator garden and the row of native shrubs. Spread 5” pine bark mulch around all plantings. Install ADA picnic table onto patio affixed to ground to prevent theft. Other construction details: For walkway, excavate existing unsuitable soil and replace with 12” dense grade, which will be supplied by the Town of Acton. Apply ½” stone dust on top of dense grade, to be supplied by contractor. Mortar in place a “soldier row” of Boston Colonial pavers. Apply/sweep Polymeric sand on top to fill gaps. Person hired will meet owner on site to review details prior to beginning excavation/ construction. Prevailing wage and OSHA Training required.
