Description

The Work under this Project consists of the removal of (26) existing Fire Hydrants and designated appurtenances, with the installation of new Fire Hydrants and designated appurtenances in accordance with the City’s standard detail. The work shall include all incidentals including but not limited to mobilization, demobilization, de-watering, shoring, special bidding, special backfill, pavement restoration, site restoration, traffic control, permitting, work place safety, notifications, root removal, legal disposal of material, erosion and sediment control, unforeseen conflicts, and repair of any and all leaks resulting from the contractors performance of this work. Due to system age it is to be assumed the hydrant branch line and branch valve is not restrained. The contractor shall verify and provide necessary restraint prior to hydrant removal. Any cost associated by the contractor’s failure to properly restrain the system shall be borne by the contractor, including the City’s cost to isolate the main for repair. The contractor shall install new valve boxes and castings at all locations. All materials shall be provided by the contractor. Q&A due by 5pm, 9/2/21. DBE GFE required. Bonds required.
