Description

Provide maintenance and service support for the fire training tower for City’s Fire Department. The fire training tower is located at 1600 South Industrial Road, Salt Lake City, Utah. The systems within the training tower are the Kidde FireTrainer®T2000 and for the O1000 Live Fire Training Systems for City's Fire Department. For a more complete description of product and/or service requirements refer to the attached RFP document. The existing systems within the training tower are the Kidde FireTrainer®T2000 and for the O1000 Live Fire Training Systems for City's Fire Department. Preventive maintenance and service has been performed on a semi-annual basis since the training tower began operation. The existing facility is described as follows: The training tower facility is a 5-story concrete training tower with 4 gas fed props on the interior. Each story measures approximately 70 feet x 115 feet with a total usable training area of approximately 20,000 square feet. The props are used approximately 100 days per year. The following props are contained in the facility: 1) Car prop – Metal car shaped prop located on the ground level with access from the north exterior roll up door. This prop can produce fire from the engine, passenger, and trunk compartments, including the ground. This prop can also produce smoke from an external smoke generator. 2) Storage prop – Metal shaped boxes located on the ground level with access from outside (west), and also access from the interior hallway/stairwell. This prop can produce fire and smoke from the metal shaped boxes, and also can produce a fire rollover effect. This prop can also produce smoke from an external smoke generator. 3) Apartment prop – Bed shaped metal prop that can be accessed from the interior hallway, second floor,, including an exterior staircase in the northwest corner. This prop can produce fire from the bed, and includes a rollover effect above the bed. This prop can also produce smoke from an external smoke generator. 4) High rise prop – Desk shaped metal prop that can accessed from the 5th floor north and south stairwells. This prop can produce fire from the desk, including a rollover effect. This prop can also produce smoke from an external smoke generator. Services must also include preventive maintenance for 3 external smoke generators in the stairwells and for ventilation fans and components throughout the facility. The optimum number of scheduled preventive maintenance visits per year and the duration of those visits should be determined by the offeror and recommended in their proposal in accordance with their experience and expertise in order to keep the training tower in proper working condition. The Offeror shall also provide a cost estimate for unscheduled repair and maintenance, including necessary spare parts, in the event of unforeseen operability problems. Offeror shall estimate the cost and downtime due to the proprietary software currently in the facility that will need to be updated, repaired, or replaced. Bonds and Insurance.
