Description

The Hamilton Well is owned by Herriman City and has provided a critical source of drinking water for the City since its completion in 2004. The well is a 16-inch, 650-foot drinking water well with stainless steel screen from 200 to 600 feet and a peak capacity of 1,750 gpm. Today, it is presumed that the damage to the well screen is what has created gravel pack (sanding) production of the Hamilton Well. The probability and severity of well failure is high if the screens are left without repairThis project is to be designed and constructed in two phases. Since this well is a critical source of drinking water for the City, the well cannot be taken out of service during high demand seasons. Inspection of well damage and subsequent rehabilitation must be performed in the off-peak months from October to April. Due to this time constraint, the City has decided to pursue a CM/GC delivery method to procure a qualified Well Contractor in the Preconstruction Phase of the Project to assist in developing a project execution plan and ultimately perform the work in the Construction Phase of the Project.
