Description
The Town of Montague invites sealed bids for furnishing all labor and materials and
performing all work in connection with a construction contract for “5th Street Pedestrian
Bridge and Intersection Improvements”. The project provides a new pedestrian bridge and
the removal of the existing pedestrian bridge, improvements to the intersection of Canal
Street and 5th Street, and roadway improvements to Turners Falls Road in Montague,
Massachusetts. The work includes the construction of new pedestrian bridge, sidewalks,
pedestrian ramp, driveway and parking lot entrance modifications, shared use path
modifications, curbing, signage and pavement markings, including the reconstruction of
pavement areas, utility relocations, drainage system improvements, and other related work
at the intersection and along Canal Street and Turners Falls Road in Montague,
Massachusetts. In addition, the project includes two bid alternates for additional sidewalk
work and roadway lighting. Bidding General Contractors must be MassDOT Prequalified in categories of Bridge - Construction and Highway - Construction in the single contract amount of $2 million or more. The successful bidder will be required to substantially complete the pedestrian bridge project by March 25, 2022 and fully complete the entire project of all utility, road, and sidewalk work by June 30, 2022.
