Admissions Building Foundation Stabilization, Denton, TX

The Administration Building was constructed in 1954 with an addition added in 1969. Both structures sit on deep foundations with the original construction sitting on belled piers and the newer construction sitting on straight shaft piers embedded in rock. Over time, the original construction foundation is moving down relative to the rest of the building and new addition. This request is design of a micropile solution to support the building and arrest any future downward movement. This micropile solution can be seen in the drawings. This solution will be a deferred design and will need to be accomplished by accessing the crawlspace of the original building from the exterior with all of the work being performed from the inside of the crawlspace. Access to the occupied floor of the original building and all floors of the addition will not be permitted and shall not be relied on for the purpose of this project.
