CMAR - George Bailey Detention Facility Integrated Electronic Security Systems Renovation, San Diego, CA

The County of San Diego is requesting proposals from firms qualified to provide Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services with a guaranteed maximum price for the preconstruction and construction phases of the George Bailey Detention Facility – Integrated Electronic Security Systems Renovation. The purpose of this project is to provide specific infrastructure system upgrades and architectural renovations throughout the occupied maximum security George Bailey Detention Facility located at 446 Alta Rd San Diego, CA 92158. The project specific infrastructure upgrades include Integrating Electronic Security Systems with other major building systems including but not limited to; Fire Alarm, Tel/Data, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems in addition to specific architectural renovations to improve operations within the facility as described in the Basis of Design (BOD). The facility is a 24 hour facility and will vacate a housing unit or unit(s) to perform the work based on a phased construction approach and require coordination with the contractor to develop the phasing/processes and safeguards to maintain a secure facility while other areas in the facility remain operational with inmates.
