Description
The Contractor shall be responsible for packing, loading, transporting, storing, treatment,
and disposing of biohazardous/regulated waste by incineration for the Bureau of Forensic
Services’ (BFS) Laboratories on a frequency dependent on the needs of each laboratory.
The Contractor shall provide any and all services or labor required to meet Cal/OSHA
requirements, based on a 44-gallon container rate. The Contractor shall also be
responsible for all fees relating to transportation, personnel, permits, supplies and
expendables. The Contractor shall describe in writing any call-off procedures that would
allow a laboratory to suspend service for a time when the containers are empty on a
scheduled pick-up. The Contractor shall also guarantee that the biohazardous waste picked
up at each laboratory shall never leave their chain of control – from pick-up at each
laboratory to incineration. Bonds required. Prevailing wages apply. DBE incentives. Term is through 10/24/24. This is a statewide bid. The state intends to award one contract for all DOJ-Forensic Services locations in the state.
