CMAR Laguna Elementary School Renovations, Tucson, AZ

The project will consist of the replacement of (2) portable unit classroom buildings (housing 4 classrooms) with a new Special Education (SPED) Center which includes supporting administrative space for the Exceptional Student Services department. The new structure will be a single-story building at approximately 10,300 gross square feet. The project also includes a revised layout and extension of the south parking lot, school entry improvements and upgrades to the fire department access on site, including hardscaping and landscaping between the parking lane, campus entry and new building. Once the new building is complete and occupied, the existing portable unit buildings can be vacated to allow for demolition and replacement with a new playground. The construction documents are anticipated to be complete and submitted for permit by April, 2022. After the permitting process is complete, construction is anticipated to take approximately 7 months with a desired completion date of December, 2022.
