Painting of Traffic Lights and Miscellaneous Structures, Arlington, MA

The work of this Contract includes surface preparation, priming, and finish painting, of existing steel, cast-iron, aluminum and galvanized traffic light poles/equipment and street furnishings, hereafter referred to as fixtures. It is the intention of this contract to clean all rusted areas to bare metal; spot prime; and overcoat the entire fixture, (2-coats). If in the opinion of the Contractor, existing fixtures scheduled to be painted are structurally deteriorated to the extent that painting is impractical or undesirable then said fixture shall be reported to the Town so the Engineering Department can have it replaced prior to painting. The work of this Contract shall also include careful attention to all existing Town-owned traffic, warning, regulatory, route and street name signs; flags, banners and other attachments; it is the Town’s intention to mask off any surface of signs and paint the associated straps, mounting hardware to match the painted surface. Any questionable attachments should be brought to the attention of the Town. The work of this Contract shall also include completely scraping, removing and disposing of existing tape, stickers, posters, and handbills from items to be painted.
