Bagg Hall Water System Improvements Project, Princeton, MA

Princeton Town Campus is a transient non-community (TNC) public water system (PWS) in the Town of Princeton, Massachusetts. The PWS obtains its water from a bedrock well, Well 01G, and serves four buildings on the Town Campus; the Town Hall, the Goodnow Library, the Public Safety Complex, and the Town Hall Annex. Water system components are located in the Town Hall basement, over a dirt floor. Water enters the basement and passes a smooth nosed sample tap, a flow meter, a check valve, a pressure gauge and drain line, a 90-gallon bladder tank, and a pressure switch that controls well operation. The water then branches to serve the four buildings in the distribution system. The water is currently not treated. Samples from Well 01G have shown elevated levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) exceeding the then ORSG limit of 20 nanograms per liter (ng/L) for six PFAS compounds (PFOA, PFOS, PFHpA, PFHxS, PFDA, PFNA). The combined concentration of the six PFAS contaminants from Well 01G were 125 ng/L on September 5, 2019, 100 ng/L on September 27, 2019, and 111 ng/L on June 23, 2020. This IFB is for the installation of a water treatment system to address the elevated PFAS. Deadline for questions is October 15, 2021 by 12:00pm.
