Catch Basin Cleaning Contract 2 Citywide, Boston, MA

The work included in this contract consists of furnishing all equipment, materials, and labor to inspect, clean, and deodorize catch basins at locations within the City of Boston. The work will also include the transportation of all catch basin cleanings to the Commission’s Material Handling Facility as described in section SC. 18. The Contractor awarded the work under this Contract will be responsible for the area designated as Area 2 by the Commission. Area 2 is defined as the southern half of Boston, which includes all Commission sewer system maps on rows 1 through 17. The Catch Basin Cleaning Map depicting Area 2 is included in the Appendices. Specific work locations in Area 2 will be provided by the Commission following Contract Award and throughout the duration of the Contract. The Contractor will be provided iPads which will display the location of catch basins to be inspected and cleaned as necessary. If there is a time when an iPad is not functioning properly or iPads need to be returned to BWSC IT for updates, paper maps will be provided. The provided paper maps must be completed before iPads are returned to the operator. The Contractor will be required to perform an inspection and measure sediment depth in each basin designated on the provided iPads/maps to determine whether cleaning is warranted. The criteria for basin cleaning is established by the Commission and initially set forth as: Any basin containing 18-inches or more of sediment or with a blocked inlet and/or outlet shall be cleaned. The Contractor will be required to complete a Work Activity Work Order (“Work Order”) in Cityworks Mobile using the provided iPad tablets as described in section SC13. The Contractor shall be required to work in more than one specific location at any given time and may be required to return to a location after initial cleaning operations, inspections, or attempted inspections as required by the Commission. The Contractor shall make no claim for, nor be paid additional compensation because of the sequence, separation, or location of the work sites at which he will be required to work. The Contractor shall complete the cleaning of all catch basins using the equipment and methods as specified in Section D2-04D, Catch Basin Cleaning The Commission reserves the right to amend the quantities on bid page 14A-1 and does not guarantee that the work will be continuous or that the quantities shown will be partially or fully utilized. The Contractor shall be available for work under this contract from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022. The Contractor shall note that work may not begin on January 1, 2022, however they shall have crews available for work starting January 1, 2022. All work must be completed by December 31, 2022. MBE goal is 9% and WBE goal is 6%.
