Description

The work under this contract includes the cleaning and rehabilitation of approximately 6,625 linear feet of sanitary and combined sewer mains ranging in size from 15” – 72” including the rehabilitation of a 60” double barrel sewer siphon, and the rehabilitation of several manholes in City Proper and South Boston. The Contractor shall note that spray-on geopolymer structural lining and traditional cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining will be allowed under this contract. The Contractor shall use geopolymer spray-on applications for all pipes greater than or equal to 48 inches in diameter. The Contractor and any subcontractors shall have work experience on projects of similar scope and complexity in a dense urban environment within the last five to ten (5-10) years for the type of work the Contractor is proposing to perform. The Contractor shall prepare and produce the required submittals for the project as outlined in SC.4. The Contractor shall note that several of the pipes within this Contract show signs of hydrogen sulfide corrosion and the lining method shall take this into consideration. It is understood and agreed that time is of the essence in this Contract and that the Contractor shall commence work no later than five (5) days after written notice by the Executive Director; this written notice will be given no later than forty-five (45) calendar days after execution of the contract. The Contractor shall complete all work called for or ordered under this contract within one hundred (150) working days of the written notice. MBE goal is 9% and WBE goal is 6%.
