Description

The proposed stream sealing project has been designed to seal 210 LF of stream that is losing water to the underlying deep mines. The approximate depth to the top of the Pittsburgh Coal seam is 23’ at the stream centerline. The intent of the project is to locate the mine entries below the stream channel by drilling exploratory holes on the south side of the stream. Once entries are located on the south side of the stream, exploratory drilling will commence on the other side of the stream to identify entries crossing the stream. After entries are defined, production holes shall be angle drilled to terminus directly under the stream. These production holes and any exploratory holes that hit void shall be grouted until the hole will not accept any more grout. Access to the stream for drilling will be via an access road that will need to be graded into the existing embankment. Access road includes a concrete block retaining wall to limit the amount of cut required. Contractor shall balance cut and fill for the access roadway construction. Access shall be graveled. Areas of disturbance shall be revegetated per the specifications. The work shall be completed within 180 calendar days from the start date of the contract. Q&A due by 2pm, 10/27/21.

Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
