Description
The Work under this Project consists of the replacement of five-section traffic signal heads with fouresection flashing yellow arrow signal heads and the addition of three-section signal heads at designated intersections along four corridors in the City of Chesapeake. The project spans over thirty five (35) intersections and includes sixty eight (68) – four-section signal heads, twenty (20) – three-section signal heads and Flashing Yellow Arrow Signal Head Installation Signage with mounting hardware. Work will also include the replacement of existing traffic signal controllers and malfunction management units at each location with new Econolite Control Cobalt shelve mounted controllers with updated software to operate FYA signal heads and provide communications to the City of Chesapeake Traffic Management Center and MMU2 malfunction management units. This will include thirty five (35) traffic controllers, thirty five (35) malfunction management units and five upgrades to TS2 traffic control cabinets. DBE goal 3%.
