City Council Chambers Renovations Project, Abilene, TX

The City of Abilene seeks to renovate and improve the interior of its Council Chamber to improve accessibility, functionality, communication abilities, and overall appearance for the general public, serving City Council members, and City staff. Renovation and improvement work will include the building of ADA compliant entrances to the council dais from inside of the Chamber and City Council's executive conference room. Accessibility to the dais and Chamber podium will also be improved through the removal and relocation of the lower dais desks. Other improvements will include removal and replacement of window coverings, ceiling, overhead lighting, carpeting, and dais countertop. Upgrades will also be made to dais and areas of wall and paneling facade. Contractor will work with the City's existing video broadcast and audio/visual service provider to coordinate extraction and reinstallation of video and audio/visual equipment according to broadcast needs.
