Description
In general the project consists of retrofitting the existing suspension bridge by replacing the existing rod hangers with new cable hangers, replacement of the existing wind cables with new cables and helical anchors, strengthening the existing abutments, installation of new back span cables and helical anchors, cleaning and painting steel, disposing of lead paint, removal and replacement of wood members, and removal and repair of landscaping, decorative hardscape, curb and gutter, and HMA paving associated with the retrofit work, the installation of a composite lumber cap added to the top of the wood railing for the full length of each railing, and the installation of new chain link fabric. Contract time is established as 140 working days. Deadline for questions is December 1, 2023 by 4:00pm. DBE goal is 8%.
