Description

Notice is hereby given that the Pasadena Unified School District is requesting Proposals from firms listed to the District’s IOR Pool approved June 26, 2025 Board Report No. 1840-F to provide DSA Inspector of Record Services to the District for the John Muir High School Gym and Pool Modernization Project and Improvements to Athletic Facilities, including Interim Housing facilities. The Projects consists of continuous DSA-certified inspection services for the full scope of the John Muir HS Modernization, which includes, but may not be limited to: This Project entails the modernization of the existing main gymnasium, auxiliary gym, and PE locker rooms, as well as the replacement of the swimming pool at John Muir High School. Planned upgrades include a new lobby addition and interior renovations to the gymnasium, along with selected demolition, hazardous materials abatement, and the installation of modern heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Additionally, new fire alarm and low-voltage electrical systems will be implemented. The existing swimming pool will be replaced with a CIF regulation 40-meter pool, featuring new sports lighting, decking, shade structures, storage, and dedicated pool equipment buildings. The project also includes significant improvements to the athletic facilities. Enhancements at the football field will include new home and visitor bleachers, a press box, a concessions building, restrooms, and dedicated team rooms for both home and visiting teams. Sports lighting will be upgraded, and utility infrastructure—including electrical, water, and sewer systems—will be improved to support the new facilities. The baseball field’s restroom building will be remodeled, and additional site enhancements will include parking lot improvements, landscaping, and upgrades to ensure accessible paths of travel from main campus to gymnasium, football field and baseball field. The Project will also include interim housing facilities.
