Description
This project extends the Spirit Reach initiative, linking the San Antonio Rivers major destinations - Missions, Riverwalk, Pearl District, and Brackenridge Park - to the University of the Incarnate Word, The Blue Hole, and Headwaters Sanctuary. A safe crossing under Hildebrand Avenue will complete the connection between Brackenridge Park and the rivers headwaters. The project strengthens regional connectivity, honors Native American heritage associated with the river, and unites public and private lands to highlight cultural and ecological resources. Improvements include approximately 3,200 linear feet of concrete trail, 1,400 linear feet of natural surface trail, and 1,400 linear feet of stream restoration, encouraging public engagement with the Citys landscapes, history, and the enduring legacy of the San Antonio River.
