RFP for Maintenance and Operation of the Lockhart Municipal Burial Park and Hooks Cemetery. The contractor shall, at a minimum, perform the following tasks for both cemeteries and provide for their own equipment and labor: 1. Maintain cemetery grounds a. Mow and line trim all areas within the cemetery properties including fencelines and between headstones b. Trim and remove dead branches, shrubs, and trees c. Repair damaged or leaking water faucets or water lines d. Remove trash, debris, and gravesite ornamentations that are faded and worn 2. Meet with cemetery customers by appointment a. Show customers available burial plots for purchase b. Provide customers with information regarding purchasing a burial plot and the burial process c. Assist customers locating existing burial plots of family members. d. Assist customers locating the boundaries of their existing burial plots 3. Collect and maintain cemetery records a. Collect and maintain interment documents from customers and/or funeral homes b. Collect and maintain records of burial plot purchases and locations c. Assist with the conversion of historical burial plot records to electronic records 4. Provide burial services a. Communicate with funeral homes regarding upcoming burials b. Coordinate with funeral homes regarding ceremonies setups and parking availability b. Mark upcoming burial sites to prepare for opening c. Open burial plots prior to scheduled burial services and close immediately after d. Remove burial ceremony decorations and ornamentations 48 hours after interment 5. Enforce cemetery rules, codes, and ordinances a. Ensure with assistance from city staff that relevant cemetery rules are posted b. Remove items on gravesites that are in violation of posted cemetery rules c. Ensure that headstones and borders are installed per cemetery rules.
