Description
The project, in general, consists of providing all labor and materials to install a 4-inch ductile iron water pipe within a 30-inch steel casing installed a minimum of 15 feet underneath the Kern River via the bore-and-jack installation method. The water line and appurtenances will be connected below grade to an existing water meter on the south and to an existing water system on the north. A temporary jacking pit, receiving pit and sump will be constructed to facilitate the installation. The temporary facilities will be removed upon completion. Work shall be scheduled to start on November 1, 2024, or as soon after as possible. This start date satisfies the requirement to do work when the flows in the Kern River are at their lowest.
