Description

The Project will construct various guardrail improvements throughout the City, including removal and/or installation of existing guardrail, posts, blocks, delineators, asphalt, traffic striping, and miscellaneous related work in accordance with the project plans as specified hereinafter, project specifications as specified hereinafter for the City of Whittier, Los Angeles County, State of California, and in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (The Greenbook), 2018 Edition. Guardrails must be replaced within 72 hours once removed. Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, tools, materials, appliances, and equipment to complete the project and be responsible for obtaining a no fee excavation permit(s) for the project from the City of Whittier, Public Works Department. The Citywide Guardrail Improvements Project Phase 2 is funded by Federal, and Local funds. This project is subject to “Buy America” requirements and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements. The Contractor shall commence ordering all necessary materials within ten (10) calendar days after notification that the contract has been executed and shall be completed within 45 working days after date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. Please note that the guardrails removed must be replaced within 72 hours. DBE goal is 11%.
