The Project is located on Route I-405 in the City of Los Angeles from Post Mile 19.2 to Post Mile 25. 95. Proposers interested in providing CMGC services, herein referred to as Construction Manager, will partner with the Department’s design team on this Project. Traffic operations strategies will be implemented along the designated 6.75-mile section of the I-405. The concepts implemented include but are not limited to Speed Harmonization/Dynamic Lane Management to provide real time information of downstream events which may require merging, Dynamic Corridor Adaptive Ramp Metering and Queue Warning/Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) utilized to provide corridor travel information. This project will also install ATM/ICM concepts with variable speed advisory signs (VSAS) and lane management signs (LMS) on seven (7) gantry locations throughout the project limits, CCTV camera, changeable message signs (CMS), dynamic message signs (DMS) and flashing beacons for queue warning, vehicle detection stations (VDS) and maintenance vehicle pullouts (MVP). The new ATM/ICM technology features need to be incorporated into the existing LARTMC operation. The project will also upgrade the existing traffic management system (TMS) with life cycle replacements for the TMS field elements, including RMS, CCTV cameras, CMS and VDS. The project intends on implementing ATM and ICM strategies while leveraging the latest data sources and emerging technologies. The proposed strategies are known collectively as an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).
