Description
The ESFV begins at Aetna St. and Van Nuys Blvd in East San Fernando Valley within the City of Los Angeles, CA. The project continues as a center running light rail along Van Nuys Blvd for approximately 7 miles terminating at San Fernando Rd. The East San Fernando Light Rail is a standalone system with 6.7 miles of new light rail transit (LRT) including a dedicated maintenance and operations facility. The project includes a center running trackway along Van Nuys Blvd and eleven (11) at grade stations. The ESFV Contract Package includes full width reconstruction of Van Nuys Boulevard. With this reconstruction, a significant number of utilities will be relocated, installed, or upgraded as part of the project. New sidewalk, curb and gutter, bus lanes, and pedestrian betterments are also included.
