Description

To install new TPSS #4 and #7 to existing K-Line light rail, in order to support 3-car train operation at 5 minute headway.1. Complete detailed design development at 60%, 90%, and 100% levels, all the way to Approved-For-Constriction (AFC) level, for the installation of two new traction power substations (TPSS) #4 and #7 for the K-line. MTA provided the Systems design in 30% level. 2. Procure TPSS Building from Siemens (as sole source). 3. Site Preparation includes installing new concrete pads for TPSS building, switchgears, and/or transformers, and installing duct banks at the site. 4. Install two TPSS facilities, including all associated equipment, infrastructure, and connections to the existing light rail system. 5. Implement all communications systems required to connect the new substations to the Rail Operations Center (ROC), including fiber optics, SCADA integration, and network interfaces. 6. Update the Emergency Trip System (ETS) to ensure it includes and properly trips the newly installed substations. 7. Modify the transfer trip system to accommodate the new TPSS and ensure proper coordination with existing substations. 8. Update and modify Overhead Contact System (OCS) infrastructure at both TPSS locations, including feeder connections and sectionalization adjustments. 9. Pull and terminate all required cables for power, communications, and control systems, ensuring proper routing and labeling. 10. Integrate the new substations into the existing traction power and communications systems, ensuring seamless operation and compatibility. 11. Install negative return systems as dictated by the final design and perform Local Field 12.Acceptance Testing (LFAT) on the newly installed infrastructure.
