Description

The project will consist of labor, equipment, and materials to demolish two existing open pole barn structures: Roofing: Remove and dispose of existing metal roofing. Roof Framing: Remove and dispose of wood rafters, purlins, and beams. Columns: Remove and dispose of wood columns and knee braces. Footings: Remove and dispose of concrete footings. Electrical: Remove existing exterior electrical panels, disable, cut, and cap underground conduit and wire in place. Coordinate with Owner before disposing of panels. Barrels: Remove and dispose of all existing barrels strapped to building columns. Patching & Repair: Patch and repair all existing surfaces damaged during demolition to match existing materials and grades within the project area. Building Description: Existing structures are wood construction with metal roof over wood rafters over wood beams over wood columns with knee braces and concrete footings. This area is used to house livestock, and no hazardous materials are to be stored in and around the work area. SITE WORK: Demolition Plan: Per sheet A 1.2 of the demolition plans. Grading and Backfilling: All holes and trenches created from demolition and removal shall be backfilled and compacted to match existing grades and surface finishes. Protection in Place: Protect existing paving, swine wash rack, hose bibs, and water lines per demolition notes. Signage Salvage: Carefully remove "Mel McCandless" signage and offer to Owner to retain for preservation. WPPP AND EROSION CONTROL: Contractor shall provide SWPPP as required by local jurisdictions, preparation of plans, installation of plan, and maintenance included in the base bid cost. WASTE DIVERSION: A minimum of 75% (goal to increase to 80%) of construction waste generated at this site shall be diverted to recycle or salvage. Provide documentation to Environmental Spec. Coordinator at least 7 working days prior to requesting final inspection.
