Description
The Contractor shall conduct an integrated mosquito management program within the service area defined below (the “Service Area”) for the City. The Contractor shall use established integrated pest management principles and practices to reduce the numbers of nuisance and disease-causing mosquitos in the defined area. These principles and practices include: identification and classification of mosquito breeding habitat, surveillance of adult and larval mosquitos, larval mosquito control (including application of larvicide, source reduction, and biological controls), and public outreach and education. The Contractor must have the ability, and be properly licensed, to legally and effectively perform adulticide should that become necessary due to health or nuisance mosquito population concerns. The Contractor shall provide the following services within the Service Area: • Site inspection service – routine inspection of potential known larval development sites • Adult mosquito surveillance • Larval mosquito surveillance and larvicide application • Public education • City Council Meeting attendance (if required) • Telephone “hot line” for resident reporting • Adult mosquito control • Reports and record keeping The Service Area is approximately 16.3 square miles in size. It generally covers locations within the City where bodies of water exist (lakes, reservoirs, and ponds), the Bear Creek drainage area, and the City’s golf courses.
